Day 48 - February 17th

This afternoon we sent to the cinema to see Black Panther, It has received great reviews and is now the highest grossing single day movie at UK box offices this year. We really enjoyed the film.

Day 47 - February 16th (Chines New Year)

Today the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Dog, began, I bought some fortune cookies to celebrate.

Day 46 - February 15th

"Look after Millie while I'm at work" I said to Lara.

Later I received this photo from her showing a very relaxed and snoozy Millie on the sofa!

Day 45 - February 14th (Valentine's Day)

This afternoon the door bell rang and a lovely bunch of flowers from Wayne for Valentine's Day were delivered.

Day 44 - February 13th (Shrove Tuesday)

Today was Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day). Wayne & Lara were put in charge of cooking the pancakes and good they were too.

Day 43 - February 12th

Before I went to work this morning I heard a load clattering noise in the bathroom and found Tux stood in the sink batting the plug about! I moved the pug out of the sink to stop him from making a noise whilst others were still asleep and as soon as I did, he settled into the sink for a sleep! What a strange animal!

Day 42 - February 11th

Red and white tulips in the living room this week.

Day 41 - February 10th

A chilly but dry walk this morning on the footpath leading from the village green.

Day 40 - February 9th

Last month I posted a photo of a pink Hellebore in my mum and dad's garden. The white variety are now flowering too.

Day 39 - February 8th

Several weeks ago I bought a pot of Muscari - Grape Hyacinth. They are just starting to flower.

Day 38 - February 7th

For Christmas we were given a huge box of chocolates made from dark chocolate. As I'm the only one in the family that is keen on dark chocolate it fell to me to eat them! Its a tough job, but someone has to do it. 😊

Day 37 - Fabruary 6th

We woke this morning to a very light dusting of what appeared to be snow. The 'flakes' were almost like those tiny polystyrene balls that are used to fill beanbags but they were very soft. I did some research and apparently this type of snow is called 'Graupel' or 'Snow pellets'. A bit like hail but soft.

Whatever it was, it didn't stick around for long.

Day 36 - February 5th

As well as the plump, short stemmed crocus in the garden, my Mum & Dad also have clumps of this tall, spindly variety in flower.

Day 35 - February 4th

Bunches of cut tulips are starting to appear in the supermarkets. This week I have this bunch of bright red blooms to add a splash of colour to the living room.

Day 34 - February 3rd

The ground was fairly wet when we took Millie for her Saturday morning walk today so we took the route across the fields near the church. The fields in this area are set aside land and therefore easier to walk than the fields which have recently been ploughed/set.

Through the hedgerow we got a glimpse of the 14th century parish church on the hill.

Day 33 - February 2nd

I spotted these buds on a plant in my Mum & Dad's garden today. Spring must be on its way.

Day 32 - February 1st

Today when my niece and her family visited we got to meet the newest member of our family. My great-nephew Charlie was born at the end of November and we were so thrilled to finally get to meet him today.

It was an opportunity to take some photos of him with his great-grandparents, mum and big brother.

And I had a little cuddle too.

Day 31 - January 31st

The yellow crocus are now also starting the bloom.

Day 30 - January 30th

The sky was beautiful, just after sunrise, when I took Millie for her morning walk today.

Day 29 - January 29th

Tux enjoying a dry sunny afternoon.
