Day 365 - December 31st

As usual we saw the new year in tonight quietly at home and watched the celebrations, including the fireworks, in London on the BBC.

Day 364 - December 30th

Today I found a little bit of time for some crafting.

Day 363 - December 29th

I have signed up to fundraise by exercising for 31 minutes every day during January in aid of Crohn's & Colitis UK. Today I received a T-shirt from the charity and I'm all set.

Day 362 - December 28th

A few weeks before Christmas I bought this tub of hyacinths. They're now in bloom and smell gorgeous.

Day 361 - December 27th

We received and opened some very nice chocolates on Christmas Day, so this afternoon I felt it only right that I should have one of the leftovers.

Day 360 - December 26th (Boxing Day)

This afternoon we went for a walk round Marston Vale Millennium Country Park. The sky was blue and it was dry and sunny but it was a bit chilly too.

Day 358 - December 24th (Christmas Eve)

This afternoon Lara continued the tradition of making mince pies on Christmas Eve.

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I noticed that the local church now has its nativity scene outside. 

Day 355 - December 21st

 

Tonight we joined other villages at the local pub for their final charity event of the year, a traditional Christmas Carol sing-song by the Christmas tree.

Day 354 - December 20th

This evening the Christmas Float complete with Santa did its round of the village.

Day 353 - December 19th

One Christmas cactus is now blooming.

Day 352 - December 18th

Tux adopting his usual position next to the radiator during the winter months.

Day 351 - December 17th

Today to celebrate Lara's birthday we went bowling followed by a game of pool.

The snow is hanging about.

Day 348 - December 14th

It may be cold outside but Millie is keeping warm snuggled up on her bed.

Day 347 - December 13th

Today we put the finishing touches to the Christmas tree.

Day 346 - December 12th

Finding all the snowmen yesterday must have been a sign, because this morning we woke up to this.

Day 345 - December 11th

When I was in Hitchin earlier in the week, I spotted several decorated snowmen which are part of the Walking With The Snowman Festive Trail around the town. 

Despite the extremely cold weather, we decided this afternoon to wrap up warm and go and find the rest. We managed to find all 12 of the giant snowmen inspired by Raymond Briggs 'Snowman' story which have been painted to depict the 12 Days of Christmas.

Day 344 - December 10th

There was a very heavy frost this morning which made our walk with Millie very chilly.
