My Mum gave Lara this meerkat (I think it looks like a polar bear!) growing kit some time ago and today she decided to 'plant' the seeds. The basil seeds had to be soaked in water for an hour before being spread onto the wet pottery meerkat. The seeds now look like frog spawn but the instructions assure us that in 7 days they will sprout. We've put the meerkat on the kitchen windowsill and we'll wait and see what happens.
