Day 227 - August 14th
This morning we visited Framlingham Castle. I think the last time we visited the castle was in 2008. Like other English Heritage sites, visitor number are currently being limited and we had to pre-book our visit. It wasn''t at all busy when whilst we were there and we were able to safely look around whilst socially distancing from other visitors.
The wall walk was open and we queued for a short time whilst families were allowed on the walls every few minutes on a way way route.
We got a great view from the top of the walls of the whole site including the poor house.
After walking the walls we enjoyed a drink outside in the sunshine before walking the perimeter of the castle walls.
After visiting Framlingham Castle we returned to our apartment for lunch before venturing out for a walk.
We went for a walk along the River Deben path from Melton to Woodbridge.
It took us about 45 minutes ti walk from near Melton Railway Station to The Tide Mill at Woodbridge.
I was quite surprised how wide the river valley was and with the tide out it appeared even more so.
We passed quite a few boat wrecks in the mud.
Finally we reached Woodbridge Yacht Harbour and the Tide Mill.
Before walking back to Melton we sat outside the A Listers bar/restaurant in the sunshine for a well needed drink.
