This morning we went to walk from Priory Park, Bedford to Danish Camp but unbeknown to us, the Bedford Running Festival was taking place and we were going to have to share almost all of our walking route with thousands of runners! So, we changed our route and just walked round Priory Park.
The festival is run over two days and today a half marathon and 20 mile race were taking place.
Part of the route passed through Priory Park. It was extremely hot and sunny this morning and I did feel sorry for the runners.
We walked round the lake where the swans were sitting in the shade.
At Cardington Lock we saw a boat going through the lock. Something we'd not seen before.
Nearby, on the Canoe Slalom Course an event was being held and we stood for a while watching the participants.
