Today we joined our monthly walking group walking from Meppershall to Old Warden, where with the kind permission of Mr & Mrs Whitbread and the Southill Estate, we were allowed to walk through the beautiful woodland between Southill and Old Warden.
We left Meppershall in sunshine and headed towards Shefford.
At Shefford we crossed the River Ivel and headed out of the town.
Arriving in Southill we entered Southill Park, the home of the Whitbread family for over 200 years.
We walked round the huge 37 acre lake which Southill Park House overlooks.
The house was built in the 1700's and is grade I listed.
Passing the lake we then headed through woodlands.
On the horizon we could see nearby Shuttleworth House.
Finally we reached our destination, St Leonards Church, Old Warden.
