Day 201 - July 20th

We sat watching TV this evening with the patio doors open and a Comma Butterfly flew in. It fluttered round the room a few times and them settled on the door frame. It was quite a poser and happily stayed put whilst I snapped a photo or two.

Its not a butterfly I'm familiar with and looks a bit like a tatty Tortoiseshell butterfly. According to the internet the butterfly gets its name from the only white marking on its underside, which resembles a comma. You can see it quite clearly in this photo.

It looks just like someone has drawn a white comma on the underside of its wing.  Isn't nature amazing?
