The centre is split into two sections. The first section contains the centre's collection of wildfowl (ducks, geese, swans, etc) as well as many other wild birds
Wayne was the 'Pied Piper of the Bird World' and was followed around by the ducks and geese eager to feed from hid hand.
Evan a Moorhen came up for some food.
We walked round the first section visiting the various hides and looking at the birds. Despite being very close to Llanelli town it was extremely quiet and peaceful and there were surprisingly not many other visitors.
After a pit-stop at the cafe for cake and drinks, we moved onto the second section of the centre - The Millennium Wetlands. This area was more 'wild' with paths round many lakes.
We decided to use some of the centres bikes which are free to use (in return for a small donation towards maintenance) to get round. It was a fun way to see this part of the centre.
We had a few rests whilst cycling including a stop to sample some blackberries growing in the hedgerow and to take some photos.
After handing back the bikes we decided to try the canoe safari which was also free (in return for a small donation). Steven decided to stay on dry land.
The canoe took the rest of us round several waterways. Trying to paddle the canoe the way we wanted to go was 'interesting' to say the least but good fun.
We had a really good day and we would thoroughly recommend the centre to others.
