Today we visited Ventnor Botanic Garden. Because of the location of the garden it is protected from the cold winds and its climate is more similar to the Mediterranean than the UK. This enables a wide variety of plants considered too tender for much of mainland Britain to be grown.
Inside The Tropical House it was exceptionally hot - 40C and so, so, SO humid. We didn't hang around inside for too long. Wayne did manage to snap this shot of the Giant Waterlily on the pool in the Tropical House. My camera lens just steamed up!
Outside there were lots of beautiful and exotic flowers on the terraces.
There were also lots of metal recycled ceramic sculptures and metal sculptures like this cute turtle.
After out visit to the Botanic Gardens we walked to nearby Steephill Cove for a paddle.
Lara thought it was quite amusing to wade out into the sea with Wayne whilst fully clothed and got soaking wet. Luckily it was a warm sunny day and she quickly dried off.
