Day 221 - August 9th

After our arrival in wonderful sunshine yesterday, today started out wet, but when the rain stopped we ventured out and drove along the cost to Burry Port. We visited the village last year in similar circumstances and retraced the steps we had taken previously.

We walked around the harbour which is also a marina for small leisure boats

Round the harbour there are reminders of the harbours previous life as the main coal exporting port for the nearby valleys.

After pausing for an ice cream ......

...... we walked out on the outer harbour wall to the lighthouse and beyond.

Some cyclists were having a rest and sheltering from the wind behind the lighthouse.

Although it was high tide there was still plenty of beach to walk on so we ventured onto the sand.

There were a few rock pools which where we searched  for crabs.

We found lots of seaweed....

.... but only one crab.

Shame the sunshine didn't last but looks as if you had plenty of fresh air anyway!
