Day 222 - August 10th

After another wet start to the day, late this morning we visited Kidwelly Castle. Our days are starting to take a similar pattern to last year as last summer we visited Kidwelly Castle on a day that started with rain. This afternoon the sun came out and although breezy the afternoon was warm and bright.

Taking place at the castle this summer is a 'Revealing Histories' sculpture exhibition. There were several 'sculptures' dotted around the site including some cardboard cut out cows!

In the Physic Garden hidden among some herbs some strange 'Mandrakes' were hiding.

After visiting the castle we walked down the road to the Gatehouse Coffee Bar for a drink and cake.

Once we had sampled the delicious cakes, we decided to end the day with a walk on Ferryside beach.

We took a cheap Velcro ball catching set with us and whilst unfortunately the Velcro pads quickly started to fall apart we had fun with them while they lasted.

We also spotted a rather large Cuttlefish lying on the beach ....

..... and side stepped a huge Jellyfish.
