Day 215 - August 3rd

We couldn't decide where to go today but eventually decided to drive to Beddgelert in Snowdonia. The village is a real tourist draw and has the title of Snowdonia's loveliest village. and we really should have left earlier because when we got there we couldn't find anywhere to park. The car parks were all full and any off road parking had already been taken.

We decided to drive just outside the village and park up in a layby where we had seen other cars parked and from which there was a pathway to the riverside.

It was stunning and as we stood admiring the scenery and took a few photos, we spotted the steam train passing by on the Welsh Highland Railway travelling from Beddgelert to Portmadog.

After spending time by the river we decided to drive back to Beddgelert to try one more time to find somewhere to park and this time we were luck to find a parking space in a hotel car park which was open to members of the public.

The day turned out really warm & sunny and it was nice to explore the area in the sunshine.

The train passed by us again as we walked one of the footpaths, this time on its way into Beddgelert station.

After our walk, we decided we needed something to eat so we stopped at a cafe in the village.

We sat outside and Wayne enjoyed a Welsh Cream Tea complete with a slice of Bara Brith.
