Day 219 - August 7th

Today we drove to Llanberis in Snowdonia.

Our first port of call was The National Slate Museum. Due to Covid restriction we had to book our visit ahead of time but when we arrived a little early they were happy to let us in early. We had visited the museum before but this time there were fewer other visitors (presumably because visits had to be pre-booked) and so we were able to leisurely wander around the site visiting the workshops and other buildings.

After visiting the museum we sent for a walk in Padarn Country Park

The lake of Llyn Padarn is in the centre of the park and there’s everything in the park from watersports to walking, wildlife to industrial heritage, woodlands to mountain views.

The Llanberis Lake Railway operates within the park and we spotted the train  several times whilst we were visiting.

It was the perfect place to visit for a walk and the scenery, as always in this part of the country, was stunning.

We climbed several flights of stairs to the Quarry Hospital Museum. Despite the museum being closed it was worth the climb for the view.

On our way back to the car the train passed us one last time.
