Day 48 - February 17th
There have been the occasional daisy on the lawn all winter, but now the sun is starting to shine more and spring is certainly on its way ,the daisies are coming into their own.
Day 47 - February 16th
When the sun came out today, Tux found a spot just inside Steven's bedroom, where the sun was warming the carpet, and did a little sunbathing.
Day 46 - February 15th
We woke this morning to a light dusting of snow. My car looked like someone had sprinkled it with a huge icing sugar shaker.
Day 44 - February 13th
I spotted what I think is a partially opened Perennial Cornflower today. I've never photographed one this early in the year before.
Day 43 - February 12th
In my Mum & Dad's garden some tiny Tete-a-Tete daffodil flowers are appearing. They are only about 6" high but perfectly proportioned.
Day 42 - February 11th
Millie loves sitting by the window watching the the birds in the garden. She instinctively knows when Wayne is due home from work too and eagerly sits gazing out of the window waiting for his car to appear on the drive.
Day 41 - February 10th
I've posted several times before about Ash Wednesday being known as 'Doughnut Day' in our family and the 'Bedfordshire Doughnuts' (Welsh Cakes) that we traditionally eat. My Mum didn't disappoint and provide a plateful of delicious doughnuts.
Day 40 - February 9th
Shrove Tuesday / Pancake Day today. I had a busy day with lots of running around so it was nearly half past eight in the evening before we got to make pancakes which we ate with sugar and lemon.
Day 39 - February 8th
I forgot to plant some hyacinths this year so bought a pot instead. They have just started to flower. Close up the individual flower heads resemble bluebells.

Day 37 - February 6th
Yesterday morning we had a load of logs delivered.
Despite the drizzly rain, today it was all hands to the deck to move and stack the logs in the log store.

Day 35 - February 4th
After a long wait, the day when Lara could take out her first pair of pierced earrings arrived. She has been so looking forward to the day when she could remove the gold studs and try some other earrings. She decided to briefly replace the studs with some funky lemon/lime slices!
Day 34 - February 3rd
I popped into the Hospice Shop today to buy a couple of the knitted chicks that they make and sell each year.
Each chick contains a Cadbury's Creme Egg
Day 33 - February 2nd
While I was out this evening Lara did some drawing.
The detail in the eye of the girl that she drew was amazing.
Day 32 - February 1st
The last few weeks, I've been buying bunches of daffodils and tulips for the living room. They are cheap and cheerful and a reminder that spring is coming.
Day 31 - January 31st
Today we attempted to count birds for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. Not many birds visited our garden whilst we were counting - 3 Woodpigeon, 2 Sparrows, 1 Blackbird and 1 Robin.
Day 29 - January 29th
The Kerria Japonica (Jew's Mallow) is just starting to flower. It seems to flower earlier every year. The RHS website suggests that it flowers from mid-spring onwards so it is very early this year.
Day 28 - January 28th
This tiny Celandine flower is hiding in the corner of the garden. It is actually a wildflower (some would call it a weed!) but it is a nice touch of colour in an otherwise a bare patch of earth.
Day 27 - January 27th
