I have roses in the house at the moment. They are a little past their best but still pretty.

Day 333 - November 29th

My Cactus is now in bud. It usually has red flowers so I'm rather surprised to see pale pink buds.

Day 332 - November 28th

Tub all planted up for the colder months.

Day 331 - November 27th

More Christmas scrapbooking.

Day 330 - November 26th

This afternoon we went for a walk at Wrest Park. It was only our second visit this year. 

Everywhere was looking very autumnal.

On the water we saw lots of birds - ducks, geese, swans, moorhens and stood on an old tree trunk a heron.

 

My favourite building at Wrest Park is the Bathhouse. Much work has been carried out in this area in recent years with a lot of replanting but it is now becoming more established and views from the windows of the Bathhouse look good.

I was recently give a bunch of spray carnations and they seem to be flowering for ages.

Day 328 - November 24th

Whilst in Eastbourne at the weekend I bought this Christmas  tree decoration. I thought it was so random that I had to buy it.

Another new recipe - Sweet Potato and Chicken Traybake.

Tux was happy to laze on top of the neighbours shed this afternoon.

Day 323 - November 19th

Today we spent the day at the coast. It was surprisingly warm for the time of the year and rather pleasant strolling along the seafront at Eastbourne and walking up the pier.

Tonight I tried a new recipe - Mediterranean Fish Traybake.

I found this in the supermarket yesterday and thought it would be worth a try.

 

Day 320 - November 16th

Today Lara and I went to Hitchin. Lara wanted to visit and vintage clothes shop in the town centre. This building (The Carling Building) looks deceptively small from the outside but is home to three independent businesses. From 1882 until 1983 it was the offices of The Hertfordshire Express newspaper.

Day 319 - November 15th

Early this morning I logged on to try and book a Christmas grocery delivery .... this is what greeted me! Some time later I did manage to get my delivery slot.

Day 318 - November 14th

Despite the cold weather, this roses is in bud.

Day 317 - November 13th

This morning I joined the village for the annual Remembrance Sunday Service followed by the Act of Remembrance at the war memorial.

Day 316 - November 12th

Tonight we had a family meal at The Crown to celebrate my belated birthday and David's early birthday. David and I were given complimentary glasses of bubbly and when we had finished our meal, the waitress gave us a birthday dessert to share.

I couldn't resist this Christmas gingerbread in the supermarket.

Begonias in the garden are looking lovely.

Day 310 - November 6th

 This afternoon we went for a walk at Priory Country Park at Bedford.

The park was created after the process of gravel extraction ended at the site and comprises lakes, woodland, play areas and grass.

We walked around the lake and watched the ducks and swans.

There were quite a few wood carvings dotted around the park.

Unfortunately, about half way round the lake it started to pour with rain and we had to quickly dash round the rest of the lake back to the car.
