My mum bought me a pot of miniature daffodils and they have quickly started flowering.

Day 57 - February 26th

Today we had a trip to Eastbourne. Despite it being February, the weather was fabulous. Bright and sunny but a little breezy.

We took a walk along the prom and then onto the pier.

The seafront gardens had been planted with bright spring flowers and were lovely. 

We then ventured into the town centre for something to eat. Later after looking around the shops we stopped for drinks.

We then drove east of the pier, parked up and went for another wander along the seafront before driving home.

I have a few friend's birthdays coming up. I don't think they follow this blog so hopefully am safe to post a picture of it.

Day 54 - February 23rd

This afternoon I baked cheese scones.

Day 53 - February 22nd

Today was my Dad's birthday but it was also a special day for another reason.

The date today was a palindrome and an ambigram. The date reads the same from left to right, from right to left and updside down!

the next time both day/month/year and month/day/year formats aligns will be on March 3, 3030 (03/03/3030)

Day 52 - February 21st

It's taken a week for the lilies in my Valentines Day bouquet to come out, but they look a picture.

Day 51 - February 20th

A relaxing Sunday night in front of the fire and TV was in order today.

Day 50 - February 19th

Yesterday's winds have subsided but whilst walking this morning there was evidence of the damage caused with several trees either losing branches or completely flat like this one near the footbridge. Luckily we were abel to climb over it to get past.

Day 49 - February 18th

Homes have been left without power and the transport network has been severely affected as Storm Eunice lashes the UK. High winds have led to school closures, flight cancellations, and stay-at-home warnings across the country.

Here, several fence panels were toppled.

Day 48 - February 17th

The tiny Tete-a-Tete daffodils in the garden are now flowering.

Day 45 - February 14th (Valentines Day)

As today is Valentine's Day, Wayne bought me a lovely bouquets of Roses and Lilies. The Roses are already in bloom but the Lilies are yet to come out.

Day 44 - February 13th

Blossom is appearing in the hedgerows. Spring is on the way 😊.

Day 43 - February 12th

Wayne dropped me off in town this afternoon whilst he went off to do other things. After a mooch around the shops I killed some time in Costa until Wayne picked me up. Their seasonal hot drink is Aero Mint Hot Chocolate and after enjoying their After Eight Hot chocolate at Christmastime I felt I should try this. It was good.

Day 42 - February 11th

The violets are just starting to appear in the garden.

Day 41 - February 10th

I found time for a spot of scrapbooking today.

Day 40 - February 9th

Mum and Dad have some beautiful Hellebores in their garden again this year. I find them difficult to photograph as they often hang their heads but I managed to take this photo today.

Tonight was our monthly book club meeting, The pub was very quiet when I arrived.

The Polyanthus are now flowering although these ones appear to have been nibbled!

This morning we had the first snow of the year. We didn't have much and it didn't snow for long thankfully.

I was sorting out books I have read at the book club. I've acquired quite a few (and more that I've already passed on) since the book club was formed a couple of years ago. Most have been really good reads. with only a few that I wouldn't recommend.
