Day 31 - January 31st

This morning Lara and I took part in the RSPB Bog Garden Birdwatch. There weren't many birds about - 1 pigeon, 1 blue tit, 2 blackbirds, 1 robin and 2 house sparrows.

Day 30 - January 30th

The level of the stream hasn't receded any. Millie has a dislike for this bridge and is very hesitant to cross it. Not sure if it's the water she's afraid of or if she thinks there are trolls hiding underneath!

Day 29 - January 29th

Lara's succulents are once again flowering. Such delicate little flowers.

Day 28 - January 28th

Whilst walking Millie this evening Wayne sent me this photo of a spoon found hidden in the verge. It doesn't look very happy.

This afternoon a small group of us gathered at Bedford Crematorium to say goodbye to my Auntie Joyce. Rest in Peace.

Walking Millie this morning I was able to take a photo of a fabulous sunrise, The colours were amazing.

Day 25 - January 25th

Yesterday's snow was still laying today so I made a teeny, tiny snowman.

Day 24 - January 24th

The first snowfall this winter.

Cold days call for homemade chocolate cake.

Found time today to do some more scrapbooking.

Day 21 - January 21st

At Christmas we were given a Panettone by one of our suppliers. Yesterday, to use up the leftovers, I made a Panettone Pudding - like a bread and butter pudding but made with Panettone, It was delicious and today we finished it.

Day 20 - January 20th

This afternoon I watched the United Stated Inauguration Ceremony on television.

Day 19 - January 19th

Whilst visiting the dentist today I popped into the supermarket. I couldn't resist a pack of hot cross buns.

Day 18 - January 18th

Lara was very pleased to hear that the succulent she gave Christopher when he moved house is still alive AND it has some babies!

Day 17 - January 17th

The water in the brook is very high at the moment. The bridge can still be crossed and hopefully if we have no more rain the water will recede.

Day 16 - January 16th

This morning we had a very puddly walk. We've had a lot of rain the past few days and a lot of the water remains.

Day 15 - January 15th

Last week I had daffodils in the house. This week Wayne bought me a couple of bunches of tulips. They are gorgeous.

Day 14 - January 14th

The Hellebores in my Mum & Dad's garden are flowering. I googled the many other names given to Hellebores and found that they are sometimes called the Christmas rose, due to an old legend that it sprouted in the snow from the tears of a young girl who had no gift to give the Christ child in Bethlehem.

Today I started to create another scrapbook layout.

Day 12 - January 12th

Snowdrops in my Mum & Dad's garden are behind those at the churchyard, but they are now starting the flower.

Day 11 - January 11th

Daffodils in the garden are starting peeking through the earth.

Day 10 - January 10th

Our dog walk this morning was a chilly affair.

Day 9 - January 9th

There was a heavy frost last night. By the time I got around to taking some photos the ice had started to melt and the melted frost looked like strings of beads on the spider's webs.

Day 8 - January 8th

I managed to add a couple of bunches of daffodils to my online grocery shop this week. Daffodils are some of my favourite flowers and so it's lovely to have some in the house.

Day 7 - January 7th

I love decorating the house for Christmas, but I also like a nice clean, clear room when the decorations are put away.

Day 6 - January 6th

The Christmas decorations have been put away until next Christmas.

Day 5 - January 5th

There is very little in flower in the garden at the moment but I did spot this tiny little pale pink flower.

Day 4 - January 4th

 Time for more scrapbooking.

Banana Loaf made from some of the uneaten bananas in the fruit bowl left over from Christmas.

Day 2 - January 2nd

The snowdrops in the Churchyard are in flower and are a sign that warmer spring days are on their way.
