Day 21 - January 21st

Driving home from a shopping trip this afternoon, the sun was just starting to set. The layers of colours in the sky were so pretty with the silhouette of one of the wind turbines in the foreground.

Day 20 - January 20th

This afternoon i watched the United Stated Inauguration Ceremony on television.

Day 19 - January 19th

Another cold start to the day. Brrrrrr.

Day 18 - January 18th

After yesterdays beautiful sunrise, tonight the sunset was spectacular. Unfortunately this photo doesn't do it justice as the colours were much more vivid.

Day 17 - January 17th

The mornings are starting to get light a little earlier now and when I'm out walking Millie before work I see some gorgeous sunrises across the fields.

Day 16 - January 16th

The cold mornings make the leaves on the trees look so pretty in their frosty coats.

Day 15 - January 15th

We took Millie for a walk this morning. This pony showed little interest in us as we walked by.

Day 14 - January 14th

Our last delivery of logs hasn't lasted long so yesterday we had another load delivered. Today we had the chore of moving and stacking the logs in the log store.

Day 13 - January 13th

Today snow was forecast. It actually snowed for several hours last night but due to yesterday's rain it didn't settle.

This morning it snowed for a few more hours, it started to settle, but by lunchtime it had all gone.

Day 12 - December 12th

Lara has been having a sort out. She has boxed up lots to dispose of. I was surprised to find a small tub in one of the boxes containing the 'Skinny Wizards'! These were bought  many years ago when one of the children were little and have always been referred to as the 'Skinny Wzards' due to mispronunciation.

Day 11 - January 11th

After taking down the Christmas decorations, today I looked through the cards we had received. Several had embelishments on them which I was able to remove and have kept for my own paper crafting projects.

Day 10 - January 10th

The snowdrops in the Churchyard are staring to come into flower. Hidden among the grass they are difficult to spot.

Day 9 - January 9th

Lara made Samosas at school today. They were lovely.

Day 8 - January 8th

This afternoon Steven and I went to the cinema to see the Assassins Creed movie. I wasn't sure if I would like the film which is based on the video game, but I did really enjoy it and am looking forward to seeing the sequel which is rumored to be being made.

At the same time, Wayne and Lara enjoyed a second viewing of 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' which Lara was keen to see again.

Day 7 - January 7th

A very muddy walk this morning. In many ways the mud gave our legs a good workout as we struggled to walk with the extra weight of half the field on our boots, but we'll be glad when the ground dries up and walking is easier.

Day 6 - January 6th

Lara upgraded her mobile phone this week and as part of the deal, she received a free VR headset. Much of this week has therefore been spent like this!

Day 5 - January 5th

There isn't much colour in the hedgerows at the moment apart from the odd red berry, but the lichen has painted many of the the now bare branches a vibrant green colour.

Day 4 - January 4th

Brrrrr, another chilly start to the day. The frost/ice makes such pretty patterns on the car windows.

Day 3 - January 3rd

Tux has returned to his spot on top of the kitchen cupboards to snooze in peace and to watch what everyone else is doing.

Day 2 - January 2nd

Today was a much drier day so we took the opportunity, before returning to work tomorrow, for a walk.

Day 1 - January 1st

A rather wet start to the new year put paid to thoughts of a nice long walk.

Day 366 - December 31st

We spent New Years Eve quietly at home watching TV.
