Day 148 - May 28th
We took Millie for a Bank Holiday Monday walk today. Most of the cows were lying down. Do cows really lie down when it#s about to rain?
This cow however was on its feet and curiously watched us walk past.
We noticed a lot of Elderflowers and spotted a couple picking the flowers presumably to make cordial.
Day 146 - May 26th
Today we visited the Letchworth Food and Drink Festival. The festival is in the town centre for two days and celebrates the best of local food and drink.
The hot weather had obviously drawn people out as it was very busy.
Day 144 - May 24th
Another trip to Berkhamsted today. It was rather chilly and slightly misty during the journey but we could just about see the chalk lion at Whipsnade Zoo as we drove past.
Day 139 - May 19th
A lovely sunny evening was a good excuse for a walk. One particular field is full of buttercups.
We paused for a short time for a game of Pooh Sticks....
.... before continuing our walk.
Day 135 - May 15th
This evening Wayne and I popped into our local pub- The Crown. The pub has been closed for many, many months but finally after extensive refurbishment work it opened in March under new management.
The inside looked lovely - very clean and inviting and outside the garden/patio area has had a makeover too.
Day 134 - May 14th
My Harlow Carr (Wrest Park) rose bush is now starting to flower. It's such a pretty rose with its bright pink rosette flowers and smells amazing.
Day 133 - May 13th
One of my crafty friends has a birthday soon so I have been making her a card using lots of sewing themed bits and pieces.
Day 132 - May 12th
We are decorating the study. Its been a long drawn out process but finally the new wallpaper is going on the walls.
Day 129 - May 9th
I have been working on another scrapbook layout recently using photos of beach huts at Wells Next the Sea.
Day 128 - May 8th
The winter pansies on our raised flower beds which we planted last autumn are now looking the best they have.
Day 127 - May 7th
Today was another hot, sunny day so we went for a walk over the fields near the church.
Everywhere is looking so green and lush.
In the churchyard where at the beginning of the year we had seen snowdrops, bluebells are now flowering.
Day 125 - May 5th
Our walk over the fields today was hot! Look at that blue sky!
There are lots of dandelion clocks around.....
..... as well as the yellow flowers.
Day 124 - May 4th
I have never noticed flowers on our Laurel bush before but this year there are a few flowers. Reading up about this suggests that late pruning or neglect causes the flowers!
