Day 110 - April 20th

Our Easter Cake has been cooked and decorated.

Day 109 - April 19th (Good Friday)

This afternoon Lara and I decorated our Easter Tree.

Many of the decorations are over 30 years old.

Day 108 - April 18th

Lara's been doing some painting today.

Day 107 - April 17th

For the first time since Lara started collecting Cacti one has come into flower.

Day 106 - April 16th

Another birthday in the family today and instead of the traditional birthday cake, the birthday boy had a tower of doughnuts!

Day 105 - April 15th

Beautiful apple blossom is starting the appear on the trees in the front garden.

Day 104 - April 14th

Bluebells are synonymous with spring and we have more than our fair share.

Day 103 - April 13th

Cowslips are now on the field margins. Millie was quite interested in them.

Day 102 - April 12th

In recent years all but one of the trees on the verge alongside our main road have fallen down. The one remaining tree is now in full bloom.

Day 101 - April 11th

The Kerria Japonica (Jew's Mallow) gives a nice splash of colour by our gate.

Day 100 - April 10th

The young ornamental pear tree at the bottom of our road is now in flower.

Day 99 - April 9th

We were watched suspiciously by the mother sheep and their young lambs whilst on our walk this morning.

Interestingly the sheep are kept in the same field as the cows. I'm told that this is quite unusual and that the farmer who does this in our village is one of the only farmers in the county to do so.

Day 98 - April 8th

Someone turned 21 today and was greeted  with balloons, cards, presents and cake.

Day 97 - April 7th

To follow

Day 96 - April 6th

Much of the countryside around us is now turning yellow as the oilseed rape comes into flower.

Day 95 - April 5th

The red tulips have been in flower in the garden for sometime but now some of the more unusual varieties are starting the flower.

Day 94 - April 4th

I love this time of year when all the blossom covers the hedgerows. Such delicate flowers and so pretty when looked at up close.

Day 93 - April 3rd

A trip to the Radiology department of the hospital today. Thankfully all was well.

Day 92 - April 2nd

Mountain Cornflower.

Day 91 - April 1st

The Aubretia is now in full bloom.

Day 90 - March 31st (Mothering Sunday)

Today I received some lovely cards and gifts from the children for Mothering Sunday including these lovely flower.

Saturday morning walk over the fields in the sunshine.

Day 88 - March 29th

More orchids from my Dad's greenhouse.

Day 87 - March 28th

These small pale blue flowers are 'Spring Starflowers'. They are so pretty but apparently are related to the onion family!

Day 86 - March 27th

To follow.

Day 85 - March 26th

There are so many different varieties of tulip. This pale cream flower growing in a trough at my mum & dad's house is lovely.

Day 84 - March 25th

My Dad showed me the orchids currently flowering in his greenhouse. I really liked this delicate pale pink variety.
