Day 147 - May 27th
The many Dianthus plants in my Mum & Dad's garden are just starting to flower including this bright pink variety.
Day 146 - May 26th
Lara has started to grow some vegetables/salad plants. I'm not sure which these are - radish. spring onion, lettuce? They seem to be doing well though.
Day 144 - May 24th
Tonight we collected Steven from University for the last time. His final exams are now over and he just has to return for his graduation on a month or so.
Day 143 - May 23rd
Today was officially Lara's last day at school. She only has to go in for her exams now. Leavers are invited to dress up on their final day so Lara and her friends dressed up as Winnie the Pooh and Friends - Christopher Robin, Eeyore, Kanga, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Piglet.
Day 140 - May 20th
Now that the days are longer, it's lovely to be able to take Millie for a an evening walk over the fields in daylight.
Day 139 - May 19th
I downloaded an app to my phone which identifies plants. Who knew there were so many types of Buttercup?
Day 138 - May 18th
When we walked Millie this morning, we were surprised how advanced the bean plants in the fields were.

Day 134 - May 14th
I bought this bunch of stocks from the supermarket at the weekend. The scent from them instantly transported me back to Sunday mornings when we used to attend the Methodist Chapel. Each week flowers were placed in the Chapel and I assume these were sometimes stocks. The smell from this bunch of flowers was so familiar and immediately reminded me of being at the Chapel.
Day 132 - May 12th
This evening I received this photo from Wayne & Lara. They were out walking Millie and met some very friendly cows.
Day 131 - May 11th
I bought these in Poundland. Look familiar?
Poundland are selling there own version of M&S Percy Pigs. We tried than and they really do taste like Percy Pigs.

Day 121 - May 1st
My mum & dad have some very unusual tulips growing in tubs outside their house like this variegated green and pink variety.
Day 120 - April 30th
The book I have to read for this months book club is a whopping 776 pages long! I thought I'd better get started on it to make sure I get it finished in time.
Day 118 - April 28th
Before returning home today, I went for a walk around the grounds of Easthampstead Park.
The flowers were beautiful.
Day 116 - April 26th
This afternoon I travelled to Easthampstead Park for a weekend of crafting with friends. I was lucky to be allocated one of the newly refurbished bedrooms ...
.... with a lovely view of the gardens.
After unpacking and catching up with my friends, the crafting began.

Day 112 - April 22nd (Easter Monday)
This afternoon we went to Wrest Park. It has been about two years since we last visited and it was interesting to see the changes which had been made to the garden.
This year the West Flower Garden has lots of pansies and daisies in the flower beds. The daisies reminded me of my Nan & Grandad's garden which, when I was a child, always had these daisies.
We walked through the trees beside the orchard and then over the bridge and along the edge of the river.
Near the cafe there was an area of grass dotted with cowslips and an unusual unidentified yellow flower.
When we got home we did some research and found that the yellow flowers were native daffodils and were planted by English heritage as part of a project to save these old varieties.
