Day 179 - June 28th

This beautiful burgundy red lily is now flowering in Mum & Dads garden.

Day 178 - June 27th

Despite bees being in decline, the warm sunny weather (and flowers!) are attracting lots to our garden. They particularly like the flowers in our hanging baskets and I snapped this guy on one of the Million Bells.

Day 177 - June 26th

Lilies are flowering in Mum & Dad's garden.

Day 176 - June 25th

My Dad has some orchids in pots at the back of their house and today I noticed this one in flower.

Day 175 - June 24th

Tonight the sky was a beautiful shade of pink!

Day 174 - June 23rd

Today we dropped Mum & Dad off at the airport at the start of their holiday.

Day 173 - June 22nd

This evening we went to Whipsnade Zoo's Sunset Safari. We were able to see the animals after normal hours as the sun was starting to set.

Whipsnade Zoo doesn't have the best opportunities for photographing the animals as many are behind wire or on our visit were quite far away, but I still managed to take quite a few photos.

The zoo is situated on Dunstable Downs, and the penguins had the perfect view.

We happened to be near the lions when the 'Lion Talk' was starting. The lions were at the opposite end of their enclosure but when the keepers started blowing whistles they came running to where we were because they knew they were going to be fed.

As well as being able to see the animals, there were various entertainers and street artists to see - musicians and these huge giraffe and jelly fish.

Day 167 - June 16th

Happy Father's Day.

Day 166 - June 15th

This morning we spotted our first Bee Orchid of the year. There didn't seem to be as many as usual and they appeared to be smaller but there were still plenty to see.

Day 165 - June 14th

Today Lara sat here last GCSE exam and so today was officially her last day of school ....... until September when she hopes to return to the sixth form.

Day 164 - June 13th

The bees and other insects are particularly partial to Cow Parsley.

Day 163 - June 12th

This year we have planted Marigolds in the raised beds in our back garden. Marigolds always do well in our garden so we're hoping for a good show this summer.
