We said goodbye to 2020 tonight in the same way we welcomed it in January - quietly at home. It was generally believed that there would be no fireworks in London to see in the new year but a surprise display of fireworks and drones were shown at midnight.
Whilst some parts of the country heave had snow in recent days and Christmas Day was officially declared 'A White Christmas', we have had none. It has however been bitterly cold and today there was a very heavy frost when I woke up.
I received a number of books as presents at Christmas and am looking forward to reading them.
This afternoon we went for a walk at Wrest Park. Visits still need to be booked in advance and whilst there were quite a few people visiting today, the 90 acres of outdoor space gave plenty of room for everyone to social distance.
(We were quite surprised to see that the citrus trees had been moved outside form the orangery and that they were bearing fruit.)

Christmas Day was different today. With Tier 4 Coronavirus restrictions in place meaning no visitors are allowed, there were just the 5 of us round the dinner table today. We tried to make the day special though and laid the table as we always do, with candles, crackers, etc.. I cooked my Mum & Dad's dinner too and delivered this to their door.
During advent Steven has been opening the doors of a Revell advent calendar and building a remote control helicopter. Today he finally opened the door containing the controls and was able to give the helicopter its test flight.
Millie loves a walk but lately walks are taking twice as long because she loves to stop and sniff everywhere or seek out Sticky Weed to eat.
This bird ornament is a new addition to our Christmas decorations this year.
