Day 210 - July 28th
This morning we went for a walk at Oughtonhead Common Nature Reserve.
We parked in the small car park and started by walking through the woodlands and alongside the River Oughton.
It was lovely and cool underneath the trees and there were lots of dogs enjoying a swim o a paddle in the water.
We then headed out into the open countryside.
We were gutted when we passed by The Garden Gate Tea Room to see that we were too early and it hadn't yet opened for the day!

Day 208 - July 26th
Today was the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. The event was very different to previous Opening Ceremonies as it didn't take place in a stadium. The parade of athletes took place on the River Seine with boats for each delegation and the 30m high Olympic Cauldron situated in the Jardin des Tuileries.

Day 203 - July 21st
This afternoon we visited Wrest Park with my Mum & Dad for a Lazy Sunday music event. For three Sunday's in July there are live music performances in the grounds. Today there was a jazz singer.
The gardens were looking beautiful with yellow Antirrhinums and pink Dianthus and Nemesia directly in front of the mansion house....
... and begonias in the Italian parterre.

Day 202 - July 20th
Today we went for a walk from Leighton Buzzard to The Three Locks pub on the banks of the Grand Union Canal near the village of Stoke Hammond, Milton Keynes, and back again. A walk of abut 9 miles.
We parked at the Railway Station at Leighton Buzzard and after a short walk through the town we headed for the canal.
The Thee Locks pub sits next to a flight of three locks and so whilst we enjoyed a bite to eat and a drink we sat and watched a boat navigating the locks with the help of a volunteer from the Canal & River Trust. It was quiet idyllic.
We then retraced our steps back to Leighton Buzzard back along the canal.
On our way back to the car, we stumbled upon a small community garden created and tended by Leighton-Linslade in Bloom. It was beautiful and we spent some time exploring it.
