Day 350 - December 15th

After yesterday's big lunch, a walk was in order. We drove to Priory Park at Bedford and walked our usual route to Danish Camp at Willington.

The water in the river was quite high.

We detoured a little to walk up the the 16th century tudor Dovecote, built by John Gostwick with 1500 nesting boxes inside.

A short distance from the Dovecote also stand the tudor stable block. Its amazing that both buildings have been standing for nearly 500 years.

On reaching Danish Camp we sat for a while to warm up with some hot drinks before retracing our steps back to Priory Park.

Day 345 - December 10th

Tonight was my Book Club's Christmas meal. We ate at the pub, where we hold our meetings, and after we had eaten we had our traditional Secret Book Swap.

Everyone had wrapped a pre-loved book and written a description on the wrapper. Something about the story and/or why someone else might like the book eg you’d like this if you enjoy mysteries. The books were them anonymously placed on the table and everyone got to chose a wrapped book.
