Day 90 - March 31st

I'm still managing to keep up with my embroidery journal having just completed March.

Day 89 - March 30th (Mothering Sunday)

I was spoiled today, on Mothering Sunday, with some beautiful flowers.

Day 88 - March 29th

This morning we went on a new walk - a loop around Woburn and the Safari Park.

We parked in Woburn and headed round the edge of the Deer Park spotting a few deer in the distance.

The path took us alongside the water before emerging in the deer park.

We carefully followed the path across what used to be the site of the war time Woburn Airfield.

Very soon we came across a huge herd of deer.

Some of the large deer kept a close eye on us as we walked past whilst others seemed oblivious to us.

We continued on the route heading into sections of woodland....

.... before coming to the entrance to the safari park.

We continued along the public footpath down the drive and then turned off onto farmland.

We passed a sign explaining that during WW2 a British bomber had crashed in a nearby field killing two of the crew and close by we found some poppies marking the spot.

After a short walk alongside the road, we soon found ourselves back in Woburn village where we enjoyed a drink and bite to eat before heading home.

Day 87 - March 28th

I bought Rhubarb & Custard Hot Cross Buns from Tesco this week. They sounded lovely, but I don't think I will bother buying them again as the taste didn't live up to expectations. The pink colour was a little off putting too.

Day 86 - March 27th

 The pink hyacinths int he garden are now flowering albeit somewhat later than the blue varieties.

Day 85 - March 26th

I've been splitting and repotting my succulents.

Day 84 - March 25th

I've not seen so many different coloured primroses in our back garden before. This year they are taking over the borders and the grass.

Day 83 - March 24th

Spring Starflower. I think it's a wild flower but also looks nice in the garden.

Day 82 - March 23rd

This morning started out misty but undeterred we went for a walk along the Grand Union Canal at Leighton Buzzard. Once again it was a walk we had taken before.

It was very busy on thew tow path with quite a few walkers, runners and cyclists.

We were surprised by how many canoeists we saw out on the water.

After about four and a half miles, we reached the 3 Locks near the village of Stoke Hammond. Last summer when we walked to the 3 Locks we were able to enjoy lunch sitting outside the pub, but today we were took early for opening time.

On the way back, we past a field of very curious sheep.

Back a Leighton Buzzard, we stopped at the Community Garden near Linslade Recreation Ground. 

The garden was full of beautiful spring flowers.
