Day 270 - September 27th
Over a week ago our washing machine died. I have been using my Mum's machine since. Today a big thumbs up to AO.com. I ordered a new machine on Friday evening and it was delivered at 11am this morning. By lunchtime Wayne had plumbed it in and now it's ready to be used.
Dy 269 - September 26th
We have a glut of tomatoes so I found a recipe online for Tomato & Onion Relish. 1.5kg of tomatoes made enough relish to fill three decent size jars.
Day 268 - September 25th
I tried an apple from the garden today. I think they are ripe although still a little too sharp for me.
Day 265 - September 22nd
In Mum & Dad's conservatory there is a very delicate orchid in flower.
I then decided to take a peep in the greenhouses to see if anything was flowering in there. I am always wary of going into the greenhouses in case the automatic watering system catches me but luckily I stayed dry and spotted these beauties.

Day 264 - September 21st
Today in Mum & Dad's garden I spotted some teeny, tiny cyclamen plants. It's hard to convey just how tiny these flower are.

Day 263 - September 20th
This morning we took Millie for a walk. The second field we walk through has now been replanted and what looks (and smells) like oilseed rape is starting the grow.
Day 262 - September 19th
Today we returned to Nottingham again to take Christopher back for the start of his final year at Uni.
He has the same flat as last year so it was all very familiar.
After saying our good-byes we went to collect an Ebay purchase from another area of the city. Whilst driving there we were surprised to find ourselves following a tram down the road!

Day 260 - September 17th
I found my first conker of the year today. I've seen several empty cases where other people have got to them first but today I found on intact.
Day 258 - September 15th
At Guides this term, the theme is 'Animals' so tonight they transformed biscuits and cakes into animals.
A Bird.
A Hedgehog.

A Hedgehog.
Day 257 - September 14th
Walking Millie after dark this evening, in the gloom Wayne spotted something on the path in front of us. Shining the torch revealed it to be a rather large frog in the middle of eating a long wriggling worm for his supper! Ewwwww!
Day 256 - September 13th
Whilst out shopping this afternoon I was surprised to see Christmas decorations already on display in the Range! Don't they know there are still over 3 months until Christmas?

Day 255 - September 12th
Today we travelled to Nottingham with Steven for the University of Nottingham Open Day. Although this is the university that his brother is currently studying at, as Steven is considering applying for a place as a future Computer Studies student, we visited a different campus to the campus we have been to before.
The Jubilee Campus is very different to the University Park Campus. University Park Campus was completed in 1928 and still has many of the original buildings from that time (as well as some much more modern buildings) and includes 13 listed buildings.
The Jubilee Campus is 1 mile form the University Park Campus and was opened in 1999. The design of the buildings are very modern and innovative and some have living (Sedum) roofs.

The library building is particularly interesting situated in the middle of a lake with one, single spiraling floor.
Day 252 - September 9th
The new mattress we ordered a few weeks ago was finally delivered today. Now I just need someone to carry it upstairs!
