Day 298 - October 25th
Today we walked on Sea Palling beach. One of our favourite Norfolk beaches.
Afterwatrds we drove to Waxham Barn. We have visited before but last time we were unable to go inside the barn.
Built in the last quarter of the 16th Century he restored Thatched Barn is the longest in the county. Today it is used for weddings and other events and also houses a rather nice cafe.
Today was our last full day in Norfolk so what else would we do ...... but play one last game of crazy golf.

Day 297 - October 24th
After breakfast we headed to Winterton-on-Sea beach for a bracing walk accompanied by hot drinks from the beach cafe.
It was quite cold but it was nice to get out and have walk.
After lunch, we decided on another game of crazy golf but this time the golf course was indoors.
The Grade II listed Windmill Cinema at Great Yarmouth is one of the UK's earliest cinema buildings. It is thought that it was intended to be used for displaying wild animals but opened as a cinema known as Gem Theatre in 1908. Sadly by the 1980's it had closed and the building has since been used as a children's indoor play area and an attraction called The Odditorium'. Today it is used as a miniature indoor crazy golf course.
It was lovely seeing the original theatre decor especially in the stage area but it was also rather sad that the building is no longer being enjoyed for it's intended purpose.
Later we went for a walk in the garden of the Vanetian Waterways. The Grade II listed waterways have recently undergone a £2.7m restoration with work carried out on its bridges, gardens and shelters. Rain was threatened so we didn't hang about for long.
We ended our day with a trip to the local pub where Wayne taught Lara how to play darts.

Day 296 - October 23rd
Wayne has returned so today we visited Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden.
We took a ride on the Broad and along the River Bure past the historic ruins of St. Benet's Abbey.
it was very peaceful.
After our boat trip we walked through the woodlands and the gardens which were looking very autumnal.
Once again we spotted lots of fungi.
Later, it was time for another game of crazy golf!
On returning back to the cottage, we noticed yet more fungi in the garden of the cottage. It must be a good year for fungi.
