Today we drove to North Wales where we will be having a much needed holiday for the next two weeks.
The first part of the journey was mostly on motorways and included the M6 toll road. Cash is no longer accepted at the toll booths (presumably due to Covid) and payment can only be made by card or online pre-payment. Whereas previously there have been people in the toll booths collecting payments from the hundreds of vehicles that pass by each day, today we saw just one solitary man watching the cars pass by. A sign of the times I guess.
