Day 196 - July 14th

This afternoon we joined our monthly walking group for a walk around Maulden Woods. We have visited Maulden Woods many, many times (often when the children were little) but todays route was unknown to us and took us to parts of the wood we'd never been before and along part of the Green Sands Ridge.

I feel a bit awkward taking photos whilst in a group but I did manage to snap a few pictures.

In one area there were a lot of these pink flowers which I believe are called Betony or Bishopwort and is a species of the mint family.

We were pleased to see this Emperor Dragonfly having a rest on a plant.

Wonderful photos - such an interesting place to walk. I so enjoy forest walks over field walks. :)
