Day 130 - May 10th

This evening after dinner we were treated to the sight of hot air balloon passing very low overhead. The passengers in the basket waved as they drifted past very close to the roof tops.

It soon became clear that the balloon was going to land quite close by so we dashed off to see where it had landed.

It landed close to the parish church, narrowly missing the allotments and landing in the neighbouring farmers field

As we watched from the churchyard as the balloon was packed away, we were also lucky enough to see the Airlander 10 passing by.

The Airlander 10 (The world largest aircraft), a combination of an airship and a plane, is based at nearby Cardington Airfield and is currently undertaking test flights.  Our view of the Airlander was very distant but the photo below taken from the intranet shows it close up.
