Day 272 - September 28th

After all the rain we have had this past week, today we decided to go for a walk somewhere that we knew there was a good chance would be dry under foot. We drove to Cheshunt to walk in the Lea Valley Park. The park is 26 miles (42 km) long running through the northeast of Greater London, Essex and Hertfordshire. The park follows the course of the River Lea (Lee) along the Lea Valley from Ware in Hertfordshire through Essex and the north east of Greater London, through the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to the East India Docks on the River Thames.

We have walked part of the park before but there is so much to see and with surfaced paths its ideal when other footpaths are muddy.

We passed some of the sculpture trail.

We walked down the River Lee Navigation and around lakes.

We did a slight detour from the 8 mile planned route into the White Water Centre where lots of people were tackling the slalom courses.

After watching the activity and having a bite to eat sitting outside in the sunshine we continued our walk through the park back to the car.
