This morning we continued walking the Hertfordshire section of the River Lee Navigation. We did a circular walk from Broxbourne to Cheshunt and back.
It was a gloriously sunny day and lots of people were out enjoying being beside and on the water. We passed lots of narrow boats, canoes, small electric day boats and rowers from the nearby Broxbourne Rowing Club.
All along the tow paths we saw lots Comfrey plants growing.
The second part of the walk took us away from the River Lee through woodlands and beside large lakes where it was sheltered and much cooler out of the bright sunshine.
Back where we started our walk, we stopped for an al fresco bite to eat and drink at The Old Mill Retreat Café.

That is such a pretty walk along the canals. Mr Man follows on YouTube two different people living on a canal boat, so we see in the videos some of the canal networks in Britain. That Black Forest hot chocolate sounded delicious ...
