Today we revisited a walk we last did in January. We walked from Hertford to Ware along the canal tow path and through the Kings Meads Nature Reserve and then back along another tow path.
We parked at Hartham Common car park and headed towards Ware.
Past Hertford Lock, through fields and into the Nature Reserve.
We passed beneath the A10 Kingsmead Viaduct and through the water meadows.
Soon we were in Ware.
After a brief stop for a drink, we turned round and walked back to Hertford along the tow path.
A group of canoeists were having fun at the weir.
We stopped for a while to watch a couple of narrow boats pass through Ware Lock.
We caught up with the canoeists again a bit further up stream.
Since we last visited Hertford, development of the Bircherley Green site beside the water has appeared to be almost completed and the new Lea Wharf complex was now open and being enjoyed.
