Day 296 - October 23rd

Today we visited Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden at South Walsham which was created by the 2nd Lord Fairhaven, Henry Rogers Broughton on land he purchased from the South Walsham Estate in 1946. The site includes ancient woodland, woodland garden and water garden and the private South Walsham inner Broad.

It had been several years since we last visited but it hadn't changed much.

We headed to the waterside first and spent time watching the sailing boats passing by.

We walked the paths through the woodlands where several new bridges have bene installed since our last visit.

The ducks eagerly came up to us in the hope of a tasty treat.....

.... and this robin watched us from a safe distance.

These pink Cornish Lilies always add a burst of colour to the woodlands.

As always, we were on the hunt for fungi/mushrooms and we weren't disappointed and spotted loads.

As well as visiting Fairhaven, we also went for another walk on the beach at Winterton.

I had seen on Facebook that seals had been spotted on the beach just outside Winterton and after walking for about 40 minute along the beach towards Sea Palling, we came across the seals. We stood and watched them from a safe distance for quite some time.
