Day 301 - October 28th

Today we visited the Sandringham Estate the much-loved Norfolk country retreat of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II. The house is set in 60 acres of stunning gardens and is at the heart of the 20,000-acre Sandringham Estate.

We went inside the house where no photography was allowed but I was able to take lots of photos outside.

I liked this sun dial on the side of the house. It reads "My time is in thy hand. Let others tell of storms and showers; I’ll only count your sunny hours"

The gardens at this time of year are spectacular, particularly the area around the lakes.

The little summerhouse on the rockery overlooking the Lake is called 'The Nest' and was built for Queen Alexandra in 1913.

Snuffling around in the woodland area we came across this little chap. It was such a warm day that he was happily searching for something to eat and not really aware of us.

When we were walking around Steven picked up several of these leaves which were covered in water droplets and sparkled like little diamonds. Of course I had to take a photo.

We never visited Sandringham when Jess was in Norfolk - but I wish we had as it looks beautiful. Your photos are gorgeous of the Autumn trees in their different coloured glory.
