Day 229 - August 17th

The family are slowly feeling better and so this morning Wayne and I went for another walk at Parc Glynllifon where we visited on our second day in Wales.

During the visit Wayne got a phone call from work so had to stop to do a bit of work. Not a bad place for an office!

No visit would be complete without a pit stop for a drink and bite to eat.

After lunch at the cottage, Steven joined us for a walk at Parc Padarn at Llanberis.

Within the park is the partly restored Vivian incline, a gravity balance incline where loaded slate wagons haul empty wagons back up. Unfortunately we were too late to see the daily demonstration.

This statue, located within the park, is one of two statues which were unveiled in 2019 during a Peace Run event. The statue depicts Peace Run founder Sri Chinmoy, an Indian spiritual leader who used strenuous exercise and art to spread his message of world harmony and inner peace.

After seeing the statue we walked part of the Snowdonia Slate Trail to the Quarry Hospital Museum.

Vivian Quarry Lake which is now a diving centre.
