Day 244 - August 31st

Today we paid a visit to Costco. Amongst the furniture there are already Christmas decorations for sale.

Day 243 - August 30th

After recent chilly weather, today we've had much hotter weather.

Day 242 - August 29th

Today I received my first one of the new King Charles ten pound notes. Unfortunately, Microsoft won't let me upload my photo of the actual note (due to legal restrictions on copying and distributing banknote images!) so I'm using an official image instead.

Day 239 - August 26th

Today was a surprisingly warm and dry Bank Holiday Monday, so we went for a walk. We walked from Stanstead St Margarets to Ware and back. 

Outside the car park we found a lovely post box topper. 

We then continued our walk along the canal.

It is starting to look quite autumnal, with berries appearing in the hedgerows.

The painting on the outside of this boat was amazing.

Whilst out today we popped into Bickerdikes Garden Centre for a look around and a spot of lunch, and good it was too.

Today whilst in Letchworth I spotted these huge imitation grass covered animals in the shopping precinct. They have been there for the summer but I have no idea why.

Day 233 - August 20th

This week a full blue supermoon has been visible in the sky and tonight I was able to photograph it.

Day 232 - August 19th

Despite nearing the end of summer, the hanging baskets are still looking great.

Today started with a visit from the AA to sort of my Dad's car which was very quickly sorted.

Day 230 - August 17th

Today we said goodbye to the cottage (and the Mali the cat!) and headed home.

Day 229 - August 16th

Today was our final full day in Wales and we went to the zoo.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay also known as the National Zoo of Wales, is the oldest and most established Zoo in Wales with around 80 species of animals.

It was a good day out, and a great end to our holiday.
