Today was Wayne's birthday and we celebrated with a ride on a steam train on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway.
We boarded the train at Caernarfon and rode to the very pretty village of Beddgelert where we stopped for 90mins before riding back to Caernarfon.
The train meandered from the coast into the mountains with views across to Anglesey and then towards Snowdon before snaking down through the forest to Beddgelert.
At Beddgelert we were able to have a drink and something to eat as well as an ice cream at the very popular Glaslyn Ice Cream Parlour.
As the day went on, it got sunnier and the views on the way back to Caernarfom from the train were even better.
When we returned to the cottage, Wayne & I decided that we would once again go for a walk up Mount Cilgwyn. It was far less blustery and the views from the top weren't shrouded in mist this time.
