Day 227 - August 14th

Today we visited Plas Newydd, a NT property on the shores of the Menai. When we last visited in 2022, the property was undergoing a major 2 year project to upgrade its heating and electrical systems. At that time, large parts of the property were closed to the public and some of the furniture and artifacts had been removed from display. Work has now been completed and we were able to see more.

The house has changed over the years, from an original Tudor House to changes made by architect James Wyatt in 1793-9 and the modernisation during the 1930s when the family of the 6th Marquess made Plas Newydd their main residence.

In addition to visiting the house, we were able to wander around the grounds and the gardens.
