The tide was on the way out so we explored the rock pools. Wayne and the children found lots of crabs whilst I took lots of photos! LOL
Its hard to believe that in 1952 after torrential rain the village was devastated by flood waters flowing off the moors and into the rivers East and West Lyn which came together in the steep, narrow valley leading into Lynmouth. 34 people were killed.
Today, whilst the river is quite fast flowing new flood defences ensure never again will such a tragedy strike what is such a beautiful place.

What lovely photos of the children playing in the tide pools. I like the one of the 2 boys peering down best. The village looks like another beautiful place that you have visited - shocking to hear that so many people lost their lives there due to flooding.
