Day 243 - August 31st
I'm glad that we didn't need to go through this kissing gate this morning while we were walking Millie because the cows had other ideas.

Day 241 - August 29th
As well as growing red and orange tomatoes this year, Wayne has also grown some purple/black ones. I've not tasted them yet - I suspect they will taste like a standard red tomato.

Day 238 - August 26th
In some parts of the country Crocosmia plants are very prolific and we've even seen them growing wild on verges, Here, they aren't seen as much and so the ones in the garden are a welcome sight.

Day 234 - August 22nd
Today I drove Lara and a friend to school to collect their GCSE results. There were lots of smiles because they did really well and I snapped this photo of Lara and her friends outside the school. Lara got excellent results, passed all her exams and comfortably got the grades she needed to return in September to start her A levels. Well done Lara.

The orange cherry tomatoes growing outside have really come on whilst we've been away. Lots to pick.

Day 230 - August 18th
Whilst in Wales Lara bought some slate circles from the National Slate Museum shop. Today she painted some. I really liked this one. It reminded me of Snowdon.

Day 227 - August 15th
After yesterdays wet weather, today was lovely and sunny and dry.
We were given a talk about the alpacas and then were paired up.
Lara enjoyed he walk with two year old 'Alamo'.
And I happily walked with his friend 'Santiago'
As well as walking the Alpacas, Wilbur the sheep also came with us for a walk. He had been a 'house sheep' and had been taken in by Anglesey Alpacas when he got too much for his owner. Apparently he used to sleep in a bed! He was very friendly and suffers from separation anxiety so when the alpacas go for a walk, Wilbur goes too and often leads the way. Among the Alpacas were two called Gandalf and Griffindor that had previously been owned by Katie Price. Anglesey Alpacas rescued them when she got fed up of them!
The beach which stretches for 3½ miles was reached by driving through Newborough Forest. We looked our for red squirrels whilst driving through the forest but once again didn't see any.
Lara and I had booked to go Alpaca Walking this afternoon with Anglesey Alpacas but first we all took a trip to Rhosneigr.
Rhosneigr is a beach favoured by water sports enthusiasts so we stood and watched the kite surfers, wind surfers and surfers for a while. Although it was dry and sunny ti was quite windy so presumably perfect for kite surfing.
After Rhosneigr, it was time to drive to the Alpaca Walk.

Day 226 - August 14th
Whilst at Llanberis earlier in the week, we booked tickets to go on the Snowdon Mountain Railway today. What we didn't know when we booked our tickets was that the weather today wasn't going to be very good! Despite the forecast of rain, we drove to Llanberis for out 4pm train to the top of Snowdon.
It was dry as we stood in the queue for the train...
.... but once on board the train and were on our way up the mountain, it started to rain and the spectacular views we were expecting to see didn't materialise. 😔
By the time we reached the visitors centre, near the summit, the weather really wasn't good.
Nevertheless we joined others in the walk to the summit.
It was very blustery and very wet. Like having a cold shower! Afterwards we decided to enjoy a welcomed hot drink in the visitors centre before boarding the train back down the mountain.
(Proof of altitude at the visitors centre. Another 54m to the summit)
