Day 219 - August 7th
Today we left the island of Anglesey for the first time since we arrived and went back across the bridge to The Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay.
We dodged the showers during our visit but were still able to see lots of the animals.
(Sleepy Meerkats)
(Very cute Lar Gibbon)
We were lucky to enter the Lemur Lookout just when the ring tailed lemurs decided to venture outside. We were able to watch them for quite sometime.
After a day at the zoo, we headed back to the cottage but decided first to do a detour to Benllech beach.
The tide was out and we were able to walk along the beach looking in the rock pools.
Eventually we reached Red Wharf bay and a rather nice bar/restaurant - The Tavern on the Bay.
It was a lovely warm evening and so we sat outside with a drink overlooking the beach, before we reluctantly had to walk back along the beach to our car before the tide came in and the sunset.
A lovely end to a good day.
